ARS 2016: Olila High School, Light S.S are North Eastern region champions


North East Region Qualifiers:

Girls Finals: Serere S.S 0-1 Olila High School

Boys Finals: Kumi 0-1 Light S.S

Olila High School edged Serere S.S 1-0 in the girls finals of the North East Regional qualifiers during the Airtel Rising Stars played at Soroti Municipal Stadium.

Cecilia Apindin notched the match winner five minutes to full time.

In the boys’ event, Light Secondary School from Soroti were also 1-0 winners against Kumi in the finals.

This was after three day’s action of the event that also included the Eastern region as well.

After the official finals, the excelling teams and individual players were rewarded with Airtel Smart phones, T-Shirts, Caps, Medals, glittering trophies and varying proportions of money.

Each of the winners pocketed Ug.shs 1,000,000 with the runners up taking home Ug.shs 500,000.
