Maroons Football Club could become the second FUFA Big league side to be promoted to the Uganda Premier League this season.

The Uganda Prisons run side requires only a draw in the home game against Kyambogo Football Club that will be played in Luzira on Tuesday.

This game was supposed to have been played three weeks ago but was pushed ahead after Kyambogo claimed the death of their first choice goalkeeper, who was later confirmed to be alive.

Maroons have 42 points, three ahead of second placed Ndejje University with a game in hand.

Maroons head coach Asaph Mwebaze who recently graduated with masters in Public administration and management needs maximum concentration against a side already relegated.

In fact, Kyambogo shall be playing merely for pride since they have only collected 16 points from 20 matches.

Maroons will once again call upon the individual brilliance of players such as Solomon Walusimbi, Allan Anguyo, Patrick Kaddu and Pius Obuya among others for the much needed inspiration.

Rwenzori group leaders Masavu became the first side to be promoted to the top flight this season.

The third side will be promoted after a promotional play off involving four clubs (two clubs from either groups – Elgon and Rwenzori).
