Lule confident Express can finish off KCCA at home

Express’ Allan Kyambadde will be key for the Red Eagles

Express Football Club coach Matia Lule is confident his players will amen for the slim defeat suffered at KCCA and pick a result that takes them to the finals of the Uganda Cup.

The Red Eagles lost 3-2 to the Kasasiro Boys in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Uganda Cup and need a goal without conceding to reach their first final since 2007.

After the defeat, Lule said: “I think the two goals away give us hope.

“We have a big a chance at home and I have confidence we can overturn the result.”

Tom Masiko and Geoffrey Sserunkuma (double) ensured KCCA win but goals from Simon Sserunkuma and Allan Kyambadde gave the Red Eagles a lot of hope.

“I liked the fighting spirit from my players. They were always behind but never gave up. I don’t think we deserved to lose but that’s football sometimes.”

A draw will be enough for the Ugandan league champions KCCA reach the final for a third time in four seasons but must work their socks off.
