Record Cup holders Express stand in KCCA”s way for the elusive double when the two teams meet in the second leg of the semi-final of the Uganda Cup.

The Red Eagles host KCCA at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku with a mission to overturn a 3-2 loss suffered at Lugogo in the first leg.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, both coaches sounded confident with Express’ Matia Lule insisting his side have the capacity to overturn that loss while Mike Mutebi, in charge of KCCA believes his side have an armory big enough to keep on road to Arua.

“The team is set. We are ready for the game,” said Lule. “We lost the game on Tuesday and the target now is to win with a margin that will take us to the finals,” he added.

In a game of football, a fan is player number 12th. We plead to them (our fans) to come in big numbers, cheer us and we promise to offer our best.

For Mutebi, he is wary of the ‘defensively’ organised Express but having won the league title twice at Wankulukuku, he feels that will turn into an advantage for his side.

“We are playing a very very organised side defensively with good players,” said Mutebi. “I think of all sides in the country, they are the most organised side defensively and our work will be to try disorganize them,” he added.

“The first 15 minutes, we must be orderly but that doesn’t divorce us from the way we want to play.  We shall go there, try to attack and get a good result.

Express FC have no new injury worries with Vincent Onyebuchi (long term injury) the only causality but are without skipper Musa Mukasa who is banned for the game after accumulating two yellow cards.

Their counterparts are boosted by the return of Muzamiru Mutyaba from a shoulder injury but defender Timothy Awany has been left out of the squad after being hauled off with a suspected rib injury in the first leg.
