Vipers Sports Club is set to release a list of players to leave the club next season as the club starts training ahead of 2017-18.
Head Coach Jorge Miguel Duarte Da Costa said during an orientation session on Saturday that some players will be sent out on loan where they will get enough playing time.
“Some players requested to be given more playing time outside Vipers while others who we think deserve a chance have all been looked into and the decisions have been made accordingly.”
Although the Portuguese didn’t reveal the names, it’s reported that midfielders Ibrahim Kayiwa and Brian Kakaire as well as striker Musa Esenu are some of the players expected to go out on loan.
The trio joined the club last season but failed to break into the first team. Their struggles haven’t been helped with the arrival of midfielders Tom Masiko from KCCA, Taddeo Lwanga from SC Villa and promising striker Steven Mukwala from Edgars Youth Academy.
Left back Aggrey Madoi is also expected to leave following the arrival of Yayo Lutimba from Express FC who is set to compete for a place with Dan Birikwalira.
Others expected to scheme for playing time elsewhere are Alfred Leku who reportedly handed in a request to be loaned out, Bashir Mutanda, Alex Komakech and Benjamin Nyakojo among others.
Club patron Lawrence Mulindwa gave leeway to whoever isn’t ready to fight for trophies in a season he dubbed ‘Hakuna Muchezo’ to hand in a transfer request.
The club has already lost midfielders Keziron Kizito and Siraje Sentamu to AFC Leopards and URA respectively.
