Reports: Airtel Rising Stars graduate Allan Okello could join Ajax Amsterdam

Allan Okello celebrates a goal for Kampala Capital City Authority football club

Two-time Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) Most Valuable Player, Allan Jolly Okello is destined for a dream move to Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.

Okello, who is contracted with KCCA Football Club, has been phenomenal for the Kasasiro since being handed his debut in the Premier League game against Onduparaka.

The 17-year-old  left footed wonder boy has in the past linked with reigning African champions Mamelodi Sundowns who are home to Uganda Cranes captain and first choice goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

His managers and parent club reportedly opted for Ajax Amsterdam because of the better development opportunities and long term benefits to KCCA.

Club chairman Julius Kabugo however insists the deal is not yet done;

We were approached by a number of clubs from North Africa, Eastern Europe, Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Amsterdam.

At this rate, we can not authoritatively say the deal is done although Ajax Amsterdam presented good offers for the club and player as an individual.

If all goes well, Okello will join two other talented players in Brazilian striker Danilo Pereira Da Silva (18) and Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski (17).

Kotarski arrives at Ajax on a three-year deal from Dinamo Zagreb, while Danilo comes from Santos in a €2 million deal.

According to football-oranje.com, Okello will first play for Ajax Amsterdam junior side Jong Ajax which has promoted a host of promising talents to the senior team like Matthijs de Ligt and Justin Kluivert.
