Azam to test KCCA, URA, Onduparaka and Vipers

  • 7th August: Uganda Cranes 2-2 Azam 
  • 10th August: KCCA Vs Azam – Lugogo
  • 11th August: Onduparaka Vs Azam – Mutesa II Wankulukuku
  • 13th August: URA Vs Azam – Venue not yet confirmed
  • 14th August: Vipers Vs Azam – St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende

Tanzania Premier League side, Azam Football Club will play five matches during their training camp in Uganda.

One of the matches was played on Tuesday evening at St Mary’s Stadium – Kitende against the Uganda Cranes CHAN team with the game ending in a 2-2 draw.

The CECAFA region maneybags will also take on Uganda Premier League champions KCCA, Vipers, Onduparaka and then URA Football Club.

Azam’s delegation arrived on Sunday morning and they have since been accommodated at Top 5 Hotel in Ntinda.

Head coach, Aristica Cioaba from Romania harbours the expectations of fruitful dividends from the training camp and friendly matches. The former Al Masry and Raja Casablanca tactician said they expect a lot from the friendlies;

We are glad to be in Uganda for the training camp. We hope that the friendly matches that we shall play will help a great deal for the preparations of the new season.

The 2015 CECAFA winners last visited Uganda in December 2014 and back then, they played friendly matches against URA and KCCA at Lugogo.
