Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club will host their home games for the 2017/18 Uganda Premier League season at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The tax collectors’ funded club switches from the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi where they have been based for five years now.

The new home ground was confirmed by the club Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edward Kulubya.

At the onset of the new season (2017-18), we shall host our home fixtures at Namboole with effect from 13th September 2017.

URA FC’s plans to play home matches at Mandela National Stadium have been finalized after the stadium management granted authority to the club to use their facilities for the home matches.

This move came after concerns by the Uganda Football Licensing Board over about the status of the Mehta stadium that has a cricket oval.

URA FC is a compliant institution to both domestic and international policies and regulations governing the management of football as a sporting activity.

“URA FC management therefore wishes to encourage the fans in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and neighboring areas to come in large numbers to support our club at all matches” Kulubya added.

URA has also played at Namboole in the pre season during their 1-0 victory over UPDF.

Ibrahim Kirya’s coached side will host UPDF on Wednesday 13th -September  2017 during their first match of the season.

Namboole is also home to Police Football Club.
