Sports Club Villa XI that faced Uganda Cranes in a training match on Thursday

Friendly Match: Uganda Cranes 0-0 SC Villa

The Uganda Cranes preparing for the two legged group D matched of the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers played to a goal-less draw with Uganda Premier League side Sports Club Villa Jogoo at the Mandela National stadium on Thursday evening.

The friendly match followed an early morning drills by the national team following a two and a half hour training session before returning for another 90 minutes in the evening.

Newly appointed assistant coach Mathias Lule marked his first day at office for the national team since being named by FUFA alongside Ibrahim Ssekagya who arrives on Sunday.

Zambian based left back Joseph Ochaya, who features at Zambia premier side Lusaka Dynamos also reported for training.

Meanwhile, the team travels to Bukedea district on Friday morning for the match against the North Eastern Region.

This is yet another match under the Uganda Cranes Regional tour campaign, popularly christened “Cranes Na-Mutima”.

The regional tours are sponsored by Airtel Uganda and Nile Breweries Limited.
