KCCA Football Club assistant coach Morley Byekwaso and Richard Malinga have reportedly turned down an offer from Maroons Football Club.
The league’s returnees are in search of a new coach to replace Asaph Mwebaze who tendered in his resignation a few of weeks ago.
Although Maroons is yet to accept Mwebaze’s resignation, they are reportedly looking for a successor and Byekwaso was seen as a potential replacement.
“They (Byekwaso and Malinga) had been approached but they opted to stay at Lugogo and honour their contracts,” a source close to the duo reveals.
Byekwaso joined the back-to-back league champions at the start of last season whilst Malinga has been part of the technical staff since he retired from active football.
It remains to be seen whether Maroons will insist on keeping want away Mwebaze or get another one before the new season kicks-off on September 12.
