Dominant Maroons hold KCCA in league opener

KCCA 0-0 Maroons

Newly promoted Maroons FC played to a barren draw against defending champions in a dominant performance at Lugogo.

Asaph Mwebaze’s side were the better side for the most parts of the game and were only denied maximum points by good goalkeeping from Charles Lukwago.

William Wadri, former KCCA striker twice headed on target only to be saved by his former teammate at Proline and youngster Pius Obuya also forced a good save from the stand in custodian.

At the other end though, Allan Okello and Paul Mucureezi came close to scoring for the Kasasiro but Derrick Nsibambi, the team’s lead centre forward was restricted to second balls.

The two teams return to action on Saturday with Maroons hosting Onduparaka whilst KCCA play away to UPDF in Bombo.
