Uganda Cranes succumbed a 1-2 loss to Madagascar in a friendly match ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Ghana on Saturday.

The match played at Lugogo had KCCA FC midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba beat goalkeeper Ibrahim Dabo with a calm finish.

This was after being set up by striker Edrisa Lubega two minutes to the half hour mark.

Rio Carlous Anoriananicinos and  team captain, Ferdinard Ramananahera provided the greatest threats to the home side.

As first half climaxed, Watenga was kept buy with lethal shots from  Anoriananicinos from close range and Ramanananahera who shot wide inside the area.

Romania based midfielder William Luwagga Kizito needed medical attention twice before second half in which changes to replace the 11 players were made.

Benjamin Ochan took Watenga’s place, Nico Wakiro Wadada replacing Iguma, Isaac Muleme coming in for Godfrey Walusimbi.

Four minutes into the second half of the game, referee Mashood Ssali pointed to the spot after Ina Faneva Andriatsina was brought down in the area by Wadada.

Ochan saved Anorianaicinos’ first shot to the left, but he equalized through the rebound.

The Islanders found their winner off a counter-attack, courtesy of sloppiness from Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Faruku Miya, Emmanuel Okwi and Derrick Nsibambi who didn’t convert their chances.

Randriaitara exchanged well with midfielder Calsin Dimitry before Anoriananicinos placed on the far right of Ochan.
