Appiah questions referee’s performance in Uganda – Ghana stalemate

Ghana Coach Kwesi Appiah has questioned referee Daniel Bennet’s decisions in Uganda’s draw with the former’s outfit at Namboole.

Two goals scored by the Ghanaians on the day were ruled out with a penalty also denied amid protests from players.

The spot kick was turned down when Frank Acheampong went down under challenge by Nicholas Wadada.

Appiah felt the referee should have done better.

“There are some infringements it’s difficult to see from the technical bench,” a reserved Appiah told reporters.

“But I think later I will have the opportunity to look at the tape to see what really happened,” he added.

Because there were some incidents you don’t understand why the referee disallowed those decisions.

Appiah was however impressed with his side’s show on the patchy green.

I think the players did very well considering the fact that I have about seven injured players and I had to try some other new guys and for me many of them have proven that given the chance they can also play.
