Kirinya-Jinja S.S record second league victory courtesy of Muwawu

Kirinya-Jinja S.S recorded their second Uganda Premier League victory courtesy of Muwawu Faizal’s strike that sealed a 1-0 win over Masavu at the lake side Fisheries Institute play ground on Tuesday.

Striker Faizal Muwawu officially opened his goal account since graduating to the top flight from the second tier division.

The star man  looped the ball over advancing goalkeeper Mansoor Mutumba as early as the 4th minute and even though Masavu’s best chance came early on, Nicodemus Mande Ikesit hesitated to shoot at goal.

Kirinya Jinja S.S midfielder Godfrey Akol had his own share of the chances created with a low shot well saved by Mutumba in the 18th minute.

Kirinya-Jinja S.S had a goal disallowed by center Musa Esenu two minutes from half time and second half was a race of close reach as well.

Masavu’s striker Charles Odeke limped off injured for Joseph Nkabirwa on the hour mark before Veron Ddamba came in for Fred Umony with 15 minutes to the end.

Masavu thus suffered their 4th loss of the season to descend 16th – rock bottom of the log.
