Black Stars finish third behind Uganda in World Cup qualifying

The Black Stars finished third just behind Uganda in group E of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

The West Africa’s position was confirmed on Sunday after their one all draw with Egypt played at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Uganda rallied from a goal down to salvage a draw in Congo.

Milton Karisa’s 11th minute goal canceled out Marvin Baudry’s cool finish in the 10th minute.

Mahmoud Shikabala put Egypt ahead with a goal immediately at restart, but the Black Stars equalized three minutes later through Norway-based Edwin Gyasi.

Uganda Cranes ended the campaign with 9 points to Black Stars’ 7.

Congo stayed rock bottom with 2 points.
