- Uganda Cranes 0-0 Burundi
Burundi held the record CECAFA holders Uganda Cranes to a goalless draw in a Group B encounter at Bhukungu Stadium, Kakamega on Monday afternoon.
The Cranes looked the much better side, with two early corners courtesy of the pressure from Milton Karisa and Derrick Nsibambi.
Simba Football Club forward Laudit Mavugo and Bloemfontein Celtics striker Abdoul Fiston tried to help Burundi back into the game but Bernard Muwanga and Timothy Dennis Awany stood solid in the back.
Muzamiru Mutyaba forced a save from goalkeeper Jonathan Nahimana with an effort 30 yards as the first half almost closed out.
Hood Kaweesa came on for the KCCA midfielder Allan Kateregga later on before Paul Mucureezi replaced Karisa.
Defender Nico Wakiro Wadada saved Uganda from conceding with a goal-line clearance two minutes to full time.
Substitute Senkatuka had a chance to shoot from an acute angle off Isaac Muleme’s long diagonal ball.
