Libya makes semi final at CHAN 2018


CHAN 2018 (Quarter finals):

  • Libya 1 (5) – 1 (3) Congo
  • Nigeria 2-1 Angola (After Extra Time)
  • Morocco 2-0 Namibia
  • Sudan 1-0 Zambia

Libya required a tense post match penalty shoot out to triumph 5-3 past Congo in the final quarter final showdown at the 2018 CHAN tournament in Agadir, Morocco.

Following mouthwatering end to end action of 120 minutes, the two sides had each scored a goal apiece before kicks from the penalty spot were called to separate the two countries.

In 90 minutes, Saleh Taher gave Libya the lead on the quarter-hour mark for his third goal in the tourney.

Mouko spilled Bader Ahmed’s cross into play and Taher tucked home the rebound.

Junior Makiesse drew level for the Congolese on 37 minutes as the first half ended one goal apiece,

During the shoot out, Congo goalkeeper Barel Mouko was the villain, blasting wide his kick from the spot.

Libya takes on hosts Morocco in the semi-final whilst Nigeria, who defeated Angola in extra time will take on the tournament dark horses, Sudan.
