Giants St Mary’s Kitende overcame Entebbe based Boston High School, Mpala 4-2 in post match penalties to seal a berth for the 2018 national copa football finals in Mbarara.

Boston High School, Mpala Football Team that faced St Mary’s Kitende at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe

The tense penalty shoot was delayed by 24 hours after the normal time played a day earlier had been marred by darkness.

During the shoot out on Friday at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe before a capacity crowd, St Mary’s Kitende scored through Colline Onega, Farid Rashid, Robert kitabalwa and Bobosi Byaruhanga.

Abdul Karim Watambala missed his effort, saved by Boston goalkeeper Blair Aguma.

Boston  High School’s  Charles Bukenya and Isaac Mubiru converted but Ambrose mapper and team skipper Reuben Wadde PinycilIru missed.

Mapper’s weak kick was an easy collection for goalkeeper James Kaggwa and Pincycillru’s effort razed off the left post to leave his school in tears.

St Mary’s Kitende thus joined the other successful schools St Julian – Gayaza, Buddo S.S and Standard High Zana that had booked their respective slots on Thursday.

St Mary’s Kitende will face rivals Buddo S.S in the final at Wakiso Resource center play ground on Sunday to determine the district champion.

In the girl’s final, Wakiso Hill will lock horns with St Noa.
