Sserunkuma scores decider as Vipers defeat Kansai Plascon

Uganda Cup (4th quarter final):

  • Kansai Plascon 0-1 Vipers

Vipers Sports Club aspirations for a domestic double in the 2017/18 season are much alive.

On Sunday, the venoms overcame second tier club, Kansai Plascon 1-0 at the Naro-Ntawo play-ground, on the outskirts of Mukono town during the fourth and last quarter final match.

Intelligent and diligent diminutive center forward Daniel Muzeyi Sserunkuma, a mid-season recruit from Express was the hero with the lone strike on the evening.

Tried, tested and proven, Sserunkuma was well stationed to brush home Geofrey Wasswa’s teasing delivery 67 minutes into the game.

This had followed a frustrating opening 45 minutes from the FUFA Big league outfit.

Earlier at the start of the first half, Milton Karisa had given Vipers the lead but the effort was cancelled by the day’s referee.

Vipers, who won the Uganda Cup in 2016, now joins KCCA, SC Villa Jogoo and Big league side Synergy in the semi finals.

The FUFA competitions department will communicate the date for the draws of the semi finals which will be held over the two legs (home and away).
