Mukwala dedicates winner against Cameroon to mother

Uganda Hippos player and Vipers striker Steven Dese Mukwala dedicated his match-winning goal against Cameroon in the CAF U-20 qualifiers to his mother.

The side overcame the West Africans at Lugogo after 44 minutes when Mukwala controlled a long throw in from Robert Kitabalwa on the left wing.

Mukwala has since dedicated the goal to a special person in his life, Nadine Nakanwagi.

It feels great to have scored as we won the game at home 1-0. We worked as a unit and complete team for that victory. I dedicated the goal to my lovely mother, Nadine Nakanwagi.

Mukwala would have added to his personal tally on the day and in the qualifiers had he converted the chances created.

About the upcoming return leg, he remains optimistic about qualification to the next stage where Mali awaits the winner;

At home, we worked as a family and a team not to concede and that was a big bonus for us

Uganda will travel for the return leg slated for Friday, 18th May 2018 in Yaounde.

The team resumed the residential training on Sunday evening at the African Bible University (ABU) premises along Entebbe road.
