Proline FC gunning for a three-peat at Philip Omondi Preseason invitational tourney


Since its inception in 2016, Proline FC has made winning the Phillip Omondi invitational tourney habitual – winning the last two editions can back that acclaim.

And when the tournament returns on Friday , the spot light will be shining on Shafic Bisaso’s side on whether they can triumph for the third time in a row.

Captain Jospeh Mandela thinks they have the impetus to do so.

“Yes we do it and win it again. Mandela said. We have the players and the altitude to fight with the other competing teams.”

League debutants Nyamityobora FC and Newly Formed Wakiso Giants FC have replace Maroons FC and Bright Stars for this year’s edition. How Proline won the past two editions.

It was Proline, Lweza, KCCA and Soana FC that participated in the Inaugural Tournament in 2016 With each win producing three points, a point for a draw and a point for every goal scored, Proline finished with 8 points, having scored four goals, won and drew once in two games.

Lweza were second with six points, KCCA FC were third with three while Soana finished bottom with just points.

In 2017 it was Proline, KCCA FC, Maroons and Bright Stars, Proline emerged champions again after collecting seven points from their win and draw and managing a total of three goals.

Bright Stars came second, KCCA and Maroons each had two points.
