Less than 72 hours after showing Cameroonian John Omog the exit, SC Villa Coach Sam Ssimbwa has been linked with head coaching role at the club.
The club parted ways with Omog and one of his assistants Ibrahim Shikanda; a Kenyan ex-international leaving Ugandan and former KCC FC coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe as interim.
Sources indicate that officials have persuaded Nsimbe who has won three league titles with KCC but he is still silent on the offer.
“He is yet to make up his mind on whether to stay in his current position or take over as Head coach permanently,” a close source to the club told Airtel Football.
Meanwhile the source which preferred anonymity added. “There are looking at many options including Sam Ssimbwa but no decision has been made yet.”
Ssimbwa has had stints away from Uganda including stints at Atraco in Rwanda and Sofapaka in Kenya.
When contacted, Ssimbwa said he knows nothing about it.
“I am SC Villa Coach at the moment and am hearing Azam reports from you. I haven’t been contacted and neither have I applied for the job.”
