Herman Wasswa will not be part of KCC FC next season after he agreed not to renew his contract which expired at the end of the 2014/15 campaign but says he enjoyed his time at the club.

The striker who joined the former league champions in the January window of 2012/13 season from arch rivals SC Villa is on the verge of joining KPL giants Sofapaka but had this to this for his two and half seasons at KCC FC.

“I must admit the time I spent at KCC FC is one of my best in my career,” he told Airtel Football. “I won medals at the club and for this, I thank the management, my coaches, players and the special fans for making this happen,” he added.

For the time he has spent at the club, the ex-Masaka LC and SC Villa centre forward finished as the club’s top scorer bar the first season when he joined in January.

Still in that campaign, he managed nine league goals which helped him win the golden boot with 20 having scored 11 for SC Villa in the first half of the campaign.

In his second and first full season, he scored 20 goals in all competitions including nine in the league, seven in the Uganda Cup, three in the Mapinduzi Cup and one in the CAF Champions league.

His last campaign at Lugogo has yielded fifteen goals with eight in the league, four in the Uganda Cup, two in Mapinduzi and one in the CAF Champions League.

On his goals, Wasswa says without his team mates, this wouldn’t be possible but says the most important thing was the victories his goals brought to the club.

“As a striker, scoring goals is my role and without team effort, I can’t do that. For this, I thank all the players I have played with since my arrival at the club. They made this happen.”
