Friendly Match: SC Villa 1-0 Soana F.C

Umar Kasumba continued with his impressive form for Sports Club Villa scoring the match winner in his second game for the club against Soana football club since joining the Villa Park based team.

Kasumba, formerly of Police F.C headed past Muhammed Didi in Soana’s goal following Ambrose Kirya’s well delivered cross from the right.

The victory marks SC Villa’s second victory in as many friendly games following the back to back losses to Maroons and Uganda Kobs team.

The team picked a goal-less draw against Yanga at the onset of June 2015.

SC Villa last week beat Kyebando F.C, a regional side based in Kampala 2-0.

For Soana F.C, this was their fifth game of the pre-season.

They drew with Maroons, Police and Kwetekamu football clubs before winning 1-0 over regional side, Azam F.C courtesy of Abdullah Muhammed’s goal.

Coaches Reactions:

  • Ayekoh Charles Lukula – Soana Head Coach:

Another good warm up game for my team. The bad thing is that we lost but the positive was the great combinations of players i have been able to recognize ahead of the new season. We look forward ro one or two more build up games.

  • Antonio Flores – SC Villa Head Coach:

I am glad for the players’ reaction. We still have to be more clinical in front of goal. The best development is the winning mentality
