Uganda’s Mark Ssonko to officiate at 2015 CAF U-23 Championships



28th November – 12th December 2015 (Senegal)

Uganda’s FIFA Assistant referee, Mark Ssonko will be among the 23 referees appointed by the CAF referees’ appointing commission to officiate at this year’s CAF U-23 championships in Senegal slated for 28th November to 12th December 2015.

Ssonko is one of the four officials from the CECAFA region that will take part in the tournament.

Others are Rwanda’s center referee Hudu Munyemana and two other assistant referees from Eritrea and Sudan – Berhe O. Michael and Elmoiz Ali Mohamed Ahmed respectively.

There are ten match referees and thirteen assistant referees who were selected to for the tournament whose best three performers will earn tickets to represent Africa at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

The African tournament will be held in two Senegalese cities; Dakar and M’Bour.


Group A: Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia

Group B: Algeria, Egypt, Mali and Nigeria.
