Arsenal searching for a world class striker to help them save their season and according to reports in Italy the gunners are lining up a 35 million pounds bid to lure the 22-year-old Argentine Mauro Icardi.
It is believed Arsenal offered Inter a 32 million deal for the striker but the Italian side rejected and now the gunners will go back with a better deal believed to be 35 millions to lure the forward to Emirates stadium.
Icardi has scored 27 goals for Inter in 48 games, helping his side to the top of the Serie A log. He will also be eligible to play for the gunners in Europe since Inter are not in any European competition this season.
Icardi is also a target for Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool. Arsenal’s strike force this season has been limited since injuries to Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott now they are relying on Olivier Giroud who had a poor start to the season and has now scored only 9 goals this season.
Rumours also indicate that Arsenal is leading the race for another Argentine 27-year-old Genoa attacking midfielder Diego Perotti.
Inter are also interested but reports indicate the Gunners will be able to fend off the competition and sign the midfielder who is rated at only 9.8 million pounds.
