Airtel–Kitara F.C vs. Express F.C – Boma Play Ground, Hoima

Western regional football association club, Airtel-Katara F.C will face a baptism of fire when they play host to Express F.C in the Uganda Cup Round of 32 battle this Saturday.

The game will be played at the Boma play ground in Hoima Municipality.

This will be the second time running just like the previous edition that the two clubs are facing each other at the same stage. Back then, Airtel Kitara F.C eliminated the Uganda Premier League giants 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Bula Mupenge, a Congolese national.

This time round, they have vowed to repeat the feat. Team manager of Airtel Kitara F.C, Joshua ‘Josh’ Tugonza has already sent warning signals to the Express camp;

We are more than set than last year. We are ready to prove that last year’s victory was not by chance, but it was our effort.

Airtel-Kitara F.C booked a last 32 place after eliminating Mulago Old Timers 2-1. Julius Lulinda and Edward Kirungi Junior scored for the Hoima based side. Meanwhile, Express F.C ejected Koeul Boys 2-1 at their opening round of 64 game with Tonny Odur and Ronald Seku on target for Wassswa Bbosa’s side in Lira.

Express’ tactician Wasswa Bbosa believes it will be a hard game away from home but he is taking a determined side.

Knock out games are never easy, but we shall fight a good fight

Key Players:

Airtel–Kitara F.C will rely on the steady form of goalkeeper Chris Kusiima to thwart the expected Express’ striking line led by Tonny Odur. The tormentor of Express F.C last year, Mupenge, is still available for Airtel-Kitara as Rulinda and Kirungi will wish to add onto their cup goal’s tally.

The Airtel-Kitara team of last year lost only two players to Sports Club Villa.

On Saturday, the Uganda Cup’s round of 32 games start with seven fixtures. Lweza entertains regional side, Wakiso United at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. On the same day in the Luweero derby, Luweero United will take on Ndejje University at the barren Kasana play ground in the heart of the town.
