Uganda Crested Cranes camp has been boosted by the return of two key players, winger Christine Nambirigge and defender Stellah Nassuna Kaliba.
Nambirigge limped out halfway through Uganda’s 1-0 edge over Burundi in the last group game.
She was thereafter rushed to a Jinja hospital, has been responding well to treatment and has since managed to train on Friday and Saturday.
“Nambirigge is well again. She has been training well and will play in the semi finals,” Crested Cranes head coach, Majidah Nantanda said.
Meanwhile, Nassuna returned from Nairobi where she had traveled to process her academic documentations. She was with the team at the last training session on Saturday.
Uganda will play Tanzania in the second semi final of the day after Kenya’s match with Ethiopia.
The Ugandan match will be handled by Suavis Iratunga, a FIFA referee from Burundi who will be assisted by Mary Njoroge from Kenya and Tanzania’s Woisnet Abera as the first and second assistant referees respectively.
