2016/17 FUFA Women Elite League: Holders Kawempe Muslim to face UCU Lady Cardinals in final

2016/17 FUFA Women Elite League Play offs:

  • Uganda Martyrs Lubaga 1-2 UCU Lady Cardinals
  • Kawempe Muslim 2-0 Olila

  • Third Place play off: Uganda Martyrs High School, Lubaga vs Olila – 1:30 p.m
  • Finals:  UCU Lady Cardinals vs Kawempe Muslim – 4:00 p.m

The first set of the 2016/17 FUFA Women Elite league play-offs was played on Wednesday at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo in Kampala.

UCU Lady Cardinals overcame Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga 2-1 in the first game of the day.

Moureen Kinavudori and Millicent Mwanzi scored the goals for UCU in the 21st and 25th minutes respectively.

Resty Nanziri’s 53rd minute goal was a mere consolation.

In the last game of the end, defending champions Kawempe Muslim Women Football club defeated a hard fighting Olila side 2-0.

Both Kawempe Muslim’s goals were scored by the league current top scorer, Hasfa Nassuna in the 47th and 91st minutes of the game.

Now Ayub Khalifan’s led side will face UCU Lady Cardinals in the finals slated for Sunday at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium.
