Uganda Cranes contingent safely travels from Rabat to Marrakech

*The team checked in at the lavish Palmeraie Golf palace Hotel in Marrakech City on Thursday evening

*All the players and officials are in sound health

*Team has acclimatized to the freezing cold weather conditions

The Uganda Cranes contingent safely traveled from Rabat to Marrakech on Thursday afternoon.

The delegation endured 325 KM by road covered in over three hours. In Rabat, Uganda drew one all with Guinea before falling 1-0 to Congo in trial matches.

The team officer, Ahmed Hussein, as quoted by the FUFA website assured that all is well in the team camp.

We traveled very safely and everybody here is fine. We are ready for the mission ahead of us and make millions of Ugandans happy

Two players were dropped from the team and asked to return home. KCCA left back Mustapha Kiiza and Vipers midfielder Tom Masiko have since arrived.

Uganda is in group B alongside Cote D’Ivoire, Zambia and Namibia.

The opening match will be played against Zambia on Sunday night.

CHAN is a tournament exclusively reserved for locally based players plying their trade in the domestic leagues on the African continent.

Uganda shall be playing in their fourth consecutive tourney.
