Uganda improves by two places in latest FIFA rankings

Uganda Cranes has improved by two places in the latest Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) rankings.

Uganda is now 73rd out of the 211 FIFA Member federations, with 446 points.

In December, the country was 75th. The January 2018 rankings were released on 18th January from Zurich, the head quarters of the World’s football governing body.

In the CECAFA region, Uganda remains the best footballing nation in the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) region.

Kenya, who won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup tournament in December 2017 improves by a slot to 105th with 317 points.

Rwanda falls three places to 116th with 282 points, Sudan jumps a massive 12 places to 124th (260 points) as Ethiopia also improves by six places up to 137th with 213 points.

Uganda’s neigbours in the South, Tanzania better by one slot to 146th (182 points) and South Sudan remains in 153rd position with 148 points.
