Uganda Premier League:
Maroons Football Club edged Proline 1-0 in the only Uganda Premier league match played at the Star Times stadium, Lugogo on Friday.
Silvester Okello scored the only goal on the evening via a kick from the penalty spot in the 38th minute.
Proline’s duo of Sam ‘Tiyo’ Kintu and Joseph Mandela were the only two players cautioned by referee Muzamir Tula.
Uganda U-20 star winger Pius ‘TZ Iniesta’ Obuya was the man of the match.
This was the third consecutive loss for Proline in the second round of the league.
Proline fell to Kirinya-Jinja S.S 1-0 courtesy of Fred Amaku’s strike at Lugogo before losing by a similar score line away to UPDF.
For Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons, this was their first victory in the second half of the season.
The Prisons’ run side held Sports Club Villa Jogoo away in Masaka to a goal-less draw on match day 16 before a similar result with Masavu in Luzira on match day 17.
Maroons jump to 5th on the 16 team log with same points as Arua side, Onduparaka.
Onduparaka has however played 17 games to Maroons’ 18.
