St. George coach Manuel Vaz Pinto has admitted his side’s failure to win against KCCA hurt.
He however says he is happy one of the objectives was achieved.
The two sides played to a barren draw in the first leg of the first round of the CAF Champions League in Addis.
Pinto said the first target was to win which didn’t happen but happy they kept a clean sheet.
“We commanded the game as we were aware of the quality of KCCA,” the Portuguese told the post-match press conference. “They like to play on counter attacks having three players upfront who have got pace,” he added.
Now we need to get back to work and try to get goals in Kampala. Our objectives were to win the tie and not concede at home.
In the first half, we relied on the right flank to create some situations. I think it is important to get the ball into the box and we failed to do that.
KCCA have never played in the group stages of the CAF Champions League while St. George played there before including last year.
