Al Ahly head coach El Badri resigns after away loss to KCCA

Hossam El Badri has resigned his duties as Al Ahly Sporting Club head coach following the club’s 2-0 loss to KCCA at the Mandela National Stadium.

The loss in the CAF Champions League group stage match forced El Badri to tender in his letter of termination of contract and the club confirmed the development.

We accept the resignation of head coach Hossam El Badri. The club executive will convene on Wednesday to discuss a way forward.

Midfielder Ibrahim Sadam Juma and defender Timothy Denis Awany (penalty) scored for the Ugandan side in the 73rd and 88th minutes respectively.

Earlier on, Al Ahly had played to a goal-less draw at home with Tunisian side Esperance.

They had also lost 1-0 to Isaac Muleme’s Alassiouty Sport in the Egypt cup quarter finals.

Al Ahly has won the Egypt Premier League a massive 40 times, 6 CAF Super cup honours and has lifted the CAF Champions league 8 times.
