Uganda Premier League:
SC Villa Vs. KCCA FC at Mandela National Stadium, Tuesday 6th November
KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi says that SC Villa’s 6-game winless streak makes them a “hungry side” to play against as the two local giants square-off at Mandela National Stadium on Tuesday.
The mouthwatering clash marks the continuation of SC Villa’s search for their first elusive victory of the 2018-9 season.
The Joogos have failed to register any maximum points after six opening games- with just three points from the possible 18, a dismal run that has dragged the Moses Basena coached side into early relegation zone and calls from a section of fans that the new gaffer should resign.
Mike Mutebi, however, is not reading into his opponents’s perilous state of affairs.
Instead he warns that the combination of Jogoos’ winless streak and their illustrious history can turn out into their forte when two sides face-off on Tuesday.
We are going to face a hungry team, they have been playing well but results not going their way, so we expect them to come expecting to begin their redemption against us.
SC Villa are the biggest club in the country with great history and they are the record champions with 16 titles, so we can’t judge them by their current struggles.
In the last sixteen meetings, KCCA FC has won on six occasions while SC Villa has won just twice with eight stalemates.
Nicholas Kasozi and Allan Kyambade, both former SC Villa players are expected to feature while Muzamiru Mutyaba has also been passed fit to play.
Allan ‘Jolly’ Okello and Patrick Kaddu will lead the search for goals upfront for the visitors.
The hosts, for their part, have received a timely boast following the clearance of Pius Wangi and Ashraf Mandela to play for the embattled league side.
Victory will see the Kasasiro boys return to second spot leaders and increase pressure on pace setters Vipers SC while maximum points will lift Moses Basena’s side out of relegation.
