Big Spenders Wakiso Giants was held to a goalless away draw by hosts Light SS in the Fufa Big League Elgon group encounter at Amuria SS play ground on Thursday.
The Purple sharks, who were seeking for a second successive victory after beating UPDF 1-0 last time out, had their best chance in the first half.
On -form Ernest Luboobi’s well struck shot was matched by a stunning a save from Goalie Joshua Okwaput on 35 minutes.
The first half saw few chances created as both sides went into recess goalless.
Wakiso Giants made the first substitution after second half resumption bringing on the fresh legs of Abdulkarim Kasule for Ali Malingomu in 55th minute as they searched for a break through.
Light SS threatened through Odeke Simon Peter and Odeke Isaac Paul but the visitors’ goalkeeper Ivan Mutumba was unbeatable in goal as he kept the hosts at bay.
“The boys performed well because they gave in all what they had. Wakiso Gaints’s Hassan Wasswa Dazo said after the game.
“We were just unlucky because we created many chances but we did not score any goal. we are happy for the point and God will make us through,” the former Express fc player added.
The result left Wakiso Giants on top of the table with 13 points one ahead of their day’s opponents Light SS in the second position who are on 12 points.
