Coach Ruud Krol reckons Vipers SC will be the team to beat when they play host his Tunisian side Sfaxien in the Caf Confederation Cup first leg play-off on Saturday.
The reigning league Champions host Sfaxien at St.Mary’s Stadium Kitende targeting a big result to draw first blood with a return leg away in Tunisia next week.
The winner on aggregate will qualify to group stages of the Caf Confederations Cup.
And visitors coach Krol has given a rousing assessment to his Ugandan opponents labeling them “a good team who can give us a challenge.”
“Vipers is a good team and we know they will give us challenge,” the former Dutch international said while engaging the media upon the team’s arrival at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday.
“We have had a long trip and we hope to have a good rest and be in good shape for the game,” he added.
The Dutch coach, who led the Tunisian side to their last 2013 Confederation Cup triumph in his first stint at club, added that his team is good stead a head of the encounter.
“We have prepared well as a team we know it’s going to be a tough game and we shall be working towards getting the result we need.”
“This competition is very tough if you don’t prepare well you don’t get the results you need and I believe we have prepared well to get the result we need,” he added.
Vipers SC slipped to the Caf Confederation tournament after they were eliminated out the Caf Champions League by Algerian side CS Constantine.
