Vipers SC 0-0 CS Sfaxien | CAF Confederation Cup
Vipers SC has settled for a goalless draw with Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the CAF Conderation Cup on Saturday.
Both sides failed to find the back of the net despite going close at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Vipers started attacking early in the first half when Taddeo Lwanga exploded forward to lay up Moses Waiswa, but his attempt is deflected for a corner.
The host’s goal keeper Fabien Mutombora had a field day as well, having produced a fine save to deny the visitors in 35th minute.
Vipers first change came in the second half when Brian Nkuubi replaced Bashir Asiku and immediately after, Dan Sserunkuma forced a save from
Ayman Dahmen thanks to a perfect onslaught.
Abraham Ndugwa also came in for Noah Wafula as Vipers continued piling pressure.
Within a minute, another save by Ayman was made thanks Yayo Lutimba’s with a fine cross from the left flank, Tito Okello heading but the ball got cleared off the line.
A return match will be played in seven days in Tunis with the aggregate winner qualifying for the next round of the competition.
