FUFA Big League side Kitara FC has announced Richard Makumbi as their new head coach until the end of the season.

Makumbi was unveiled to the fans as the new coach in the morning after flying in from Kenya where he was coaching Western Stima FC.

“He (Makumbi) flew into Uganda over the weekend and he has conducted his first training session for Kitara FC at Hoima Booma ground,” the club posted on their socials.

Makumbi is not new to Uganda football. He led to promotion of several sides from back in the day.

Iganga Town Council – promoted to super league (1995-96)
Mukono Lions- promoted to super league (1996-1997)
Buikwe Red Stars 2002 promoted to super league up to 2004
