Express FC have filed an appeal against the Fufa Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP) decision to suspend Michael Birungi for four matches.
The Express attacker was slapped with a four match ban for allegedly attacking match officials at the centre of the field immediately at the final whistle in the 1-0 defeat to Tooro United at Buhinga on January 29.
According to the appeal, signed by club CEO Hamza Jjunju, one of the few documents he has signed ever since chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka took over the club, Birungi was never given chance to defend self, punishment harsh and the CDP didn’t follow the procedure in arriving at the decision.
The appeal ends with a statement – ‘We pray the CDP’s decision is set aside’.
Birungi will miss league games against Bul, Nyamityobora and Maroons and the Uganda Cup at home to Police FC if implicated.
