Express FC woes continued as the side slipped to a 1-0 defeat away to Bul in the Uganda Premier League.
New tactician George Ssimwogerere named a defensive minded team that had defenders Isaac Mutanga and Disan Galiwango play in advanced roles.
The hosts started well with Hamis Tibita and Deogratius Ojok troubling but the backline manned by Revita and Shafik Nana Kizito did well to block attempts.
At the other end, goalie Hannington Ssebulwanyo made a block with his feet to deny Galiwango who had a good game as a left winger and also denied stand in forward Charles Male.
By the half time, both teams were stuck with no goal recorded.
Peter Onen made an instant change after the break introducing Jean Pierre Kambale for the off colour Ezekiel Katende and later Douglas Owori came on for Ojok.
The Red Eagles made their first change in the 71st minute with Pius Mbidde taking over from injured Davis Mayanja.
Mayanja later made the impact with a long ball into the area in the first minute of the three additional, Owori laid for the onrushing Bruhan Matovu whose first time low shot was saved by Mathias Muwanga only for Kambale to score on the rebound.
The defeat left Express 10th on the log with 21 points after 18 games while Bul rose to fourth on 30 points.
Express’ next game will be a trip to Mbarara to face relegation threatened Nyamityobora on Wednesday while on the same day, Bul visit table leaders KCCA at Lugogo.
