Two familiar European foes face each other again as Tottenham take on Dortmund in the Champions League.
Spurs were knocked out of the Europa League Round of 16 in 2015/16 by the Germans, but got revenge when they won both matches in last season’s CL group stage.
Tottenham qualified as Group B runners up in dramatic fashion, with an 85th minute equaliser at Barcelona securing second spot.
This is only the third time they’ve got to this stage of the tournament, and have progressed from the Round of 16 just once before.
That stalemate with Barcelona was the last time Tottenham drew a match. Seven of their 11 wins since have been to nil, and they’ve scored 2.33 goals on average per match across their last 15 competitive games.
Dortmund are in the CL Round of 16 for the fifth time, having progressed in three of their four previous appearances.
They built their Group A victory on a tight defence, keeping five clean sheets and conceding just two goals – the least in the tournament.
Having a strong season, the visitors currently lead the Bundesliga, whilst their two CL group stage away victories this campaign at Club Brugge and Monaco, are their only wins in 11 European away matches.
Players to watch: Heung-Min Son has scored in Tottenham’s last three matches against Dortmund. Raphaël Guerreiro (DOR), meanwhile, has four CL goals to his name this season.
