When Cranes coach Sebastian Desabre announced his 46-provisional man squad to prepare for Uganda’s closing 2019 Afcon qualifier away to Tanzania, there was a conspicuous name that left the local football audience bemused. Herbert Bockhorn.

Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre will think of players as Dan Muzeyi Sserunkuma for the CHAN qualifiers

The 24-year old defender currently features for Regional Liga West side Borussia Dortmund II, a reserve team for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in Germany. He was named among the 15 foreign based players that were summoned by Desabre.

It is reported that the Frenchman has been monitoring the player with keen interest and was left impressed with his performances when he watched him in Germany last month.

He found him an ideal option for the right back position where marauding Nicholas Wakiro Wadada has been the only viable option.

Consequently, the Federation is racing against time to secure dual citizenship for the player a head of the Taifa Stars contest.

“We are in the process of frantically securing for him dual citizenship because he currently holds Germany citizenship. The coach wants him to play the game against Tanzania on 24th March in Dar es Salaam,” the Fufa official said.
