Robert Eseru and Anwar Ntege scored in either halves for the student’s side to brighten their hopes of surviving relegation in their first topflight season of attempt.

Tito Okello scored the champions’ consolation in the second half.

Viper’s loss left them trailing leaders KCCA FC by three parts with the former left with just seven games to play.

The Venoms fans will now engage in a Tuesday night prayer that KCCA FC flatter when they take on stubborn Tooro United FC at Buhinga on Wednesday.

Eseru put the hosts up in the 23rd minute lead as the side left 1-up at half time.

The hosts doubled their lead through Ntege eleven minutes after recess and the Venoms were left starring down the barrel of a frustrating loss.

Okello converted from 12 yards but the goal turned out a mere foot note for the Venoms.

Ndejje’s Paul Ddumba saw red for a second bookable offence late on but even though the visitors huffed and puffed for the the equalizer, Ndejje defended with resoluteness to derail Vipers’ title hopes.

The result takes Ndejje University to 19 points while Vipers stay second with 45 points.
