Vipers SC travels to Lugogo to take-on Big League side Proline FC in the last quarter final game of this year’s Uganda Cup.
With Kyetume FC, Bright Stars and Express FC already in the last four, either Proline or Vipers is set to join the trio as both sides face-off on Tuesday at Startimes Stadium Lugogo.
For most of the 2019 Uganda Cup campaign, the reigning league Champions have been familiar with Big League opposition.
They beat Kansai Plascon at the round of 32 before Abraham Ndugwa’s lone goal helped them over come Kibonga Young at the round of 16.
Now standing in their way to the semifinals is Proline FC, another Big League entity.
Proline coach Shafic Bisaso says the variance in ambitions and stature of club heaps more pressure on their opponents.
“We don’t have any pressure going into the game.” The former Airtel Masaza winning coach told Airtel football.
“They ( Vipers) are a big club that are chasing success in this competition and that puts more pressure on them to win,” Bisaso added.
But the hosts have the audacity to conjure up a high profile scalp as they dumped out Onduparaka on the round of 16 to reach this stage.
Proline welcome back star striker Ivan Bogere and midfielder Sam Kintu as both missed out in the side’s last outing against Masindi based Dove FC.
Vipers, who will be giving another shot to the Uganda Cup after finishing runners up last year, will look up to Dan “Mzee” Sserunkuma for inspiration.
