Cranes Regional Tour: Western Region Select team to face Uganda Cranes named

Western region head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi has summoned a provisional squad of 28 players to begin preparations ahead of the game against Uganda Cranes.

The Uganda Cranes COSAFA bound team will take on Western region on Saturday in Bushenyi in one of the trial games before heading to South Africa.

Mbabazi who also serves as the head coach at Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City FC named a provisional squad of 28 players that includes three goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders and eight strikers.

The team will start training at Kakyeka stadium on Wednesday before a final list of twenty players is released

Majority of the team named has players featuring in the Western region league .

The Uganda Cranes regional tours sponsored by Airtel are aimed at taking the national team closer to the people who don’t get chance to travel to Kampala to watch games at Mandela National stadium.
