Uganda Cranes and Montreal Impact’s Micheal Azira is proud to have secured a much “needed” 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders in the MLS Eastern Conference, a result that reduced their points gap between them and leaders Philadelphia Union.
A brace from Saphir Taider powered the Impact to the victory – the midfielder scoring both goals within four minutes in the second half.
“It was really big for us to get this win,” midfielder Micheal Azira told www.tsn.ca. “We needed it.”
Seattle broke the deadlock in the 64th minute after drawing a penalty following a Victor Cabrera foul.
Midfielder Victor Rodriguez buried the ball in the top right corner past Bush for his second goal of the season.
The Impact tied the game in the 74th minute when they drew a penalty of their own. Taider’s first of the night equalized the game at one goal apiece.
Four minutes later, Taider scored his second of the night and seventh on the season.
