Montreal Impact’s Micheal Azira and colleagues claimed a crucial win over Seattle Sounders to go just one point behind leaders of the MLS Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union.
Azira was in high spirits followed his national team call up to the Uganda Cranes 2019 AFCON bound team currently training in Abu Dhabi.
A brace from Saphir Taider powered the Impact to a 2-1 victory over the Sounders – the midfielder scoring both goals within four minutes in the second half.
The match was the Impact’s first since their 3-0 home drubbing at the hands of Orlando City SC.
In the first half, Azira – who played 90 minutes – had a shot on target but goalkeeper Stefan Frei handled well to tame it.
This was his 16th game featuring for Impact, the 14th he has started out of 18 games so far played this season.
