Uganda Cranes midfielder Micheal Azira is likely to fill Bastian Schweinsteiger’s midfield void after the former Manchester United and Bayern Munich star shifted to central defence.

Azira will be assigned the role in a major tactical shift meant to improve Chicago Fire into the playoffs.
The Ugandan has been impressive at the Africa Cup of Nations despite the national team’s early exit after losing to Senegal after the group stages.
Azira’s experience will come in handy after shifts at Seattle Sounders (2014-15), Colorado Rapids (2016-18) and the Impact (2018-19).

The star will be under contract with the Fire through the 2019 season with a Club option for the 2020 season.
