Uganda Premier League outfit Proline FC have been punished for failure to honor a league game against Sports Club Villa last week.
Proline FC stood their ground not to play a league game against SC Villa on Saturday indicating it was a FIFA International period and thus no league action was supposed to take place.
In that regard, the FUFA Competitions Displinary Panel has on Thursday morning made a ruling indicating the Lugogo based club was found guilty of forfeiting a league game.
The panel did not find any justification in Proline’s reasons despite having two players in Musitafa Mujjuzi and Bright Anukani on the national team.
FUFA Disciplinary Panel decision “In consideration of the above findings, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel orders that;
• Proline FC loses the match against SC Villa by forfeiture.
• Proline FC be docked six points and six goals from those accumulated or to be accumulated in accordance with Article 24 (9) of the FUFA Competition rules.
• That the table standings be updated accordingly.
• For bringing the game into disrepute, Proline FC is fined UGX 5,000,000 (Five Million shillings only) to be paid by 18th September 2019.
This therefore means that Proline FC now have -3 points while SC Villa who have gained three points move joint top on seven points same as Wakiso Giants FC.
Proline FC however, have the right to appeal.
